Jim is a shareholder of Braver PC and joined Braver PC with the merger of Braver and Prescott, Chatellier, Fontaine, Wilkinson, LLP, in Providence, Rhode Island.
Jim has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, working with companies ranging from small family businesses to publicly traded companies. He specializes in auditing and financial reporting that includes experience with public stock offerings (IPOs) and SEC regulations. Jim also has extensive audit experience with not-for-profits and governmental entities.
He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a past member of the AICPA council and has served as liaison to the Rhode Island Congressional delegation through the AICPA’s “key persons” program. Jim is a member of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he served as president and for nine years on the board of directors. Jim is currently a member of the Society’s legislation and ethics committees.
He is a graduate of St. Michael’s College. Jim serves as president of Statewide Affordable Housing, Inc., a Rhode Island based not-for-profit. He is a past president of Literacy Volunteers of America-Rhode Island, and lives in Barrington, Rhode Island, with his wife and daughter.
